EcoFlow DELTA 3 Review: Fast-Charging 1kWh Backup Power
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 is a mid-size portable power station with a 1024Wh LiFePO4 battery and an 1800W pure sine wave inverter. It’s built for home backup, RV trips and camping, where you want enough power for appliances like a fridge or microwave without a gas generator.
This review is based on EcoFlow’s published specifications and retailer listings; we haven’t tested the DELTA 3 ourselves.
Design and Portability
The DELTA 3 weighs about 27.6 pounds and measures 15.7 × 8.0 × 11.2 inches, so it’s a two-handed carry but still easy to move between rooms or load into a car. It has 13 outputs in total, including six AC outlets, two 100W USB-C ports, USB-A ports, a car outlet and DC5521 ports. You can monitor it and change settings in the EcoFlow app.
Power and Capacity
The 1800W inverter (3600W surge) handles most household appliances, including microwaves, coffee makers and many power tools. EcoFlow’s X-Boost mode lets it run some resistive appliances rated up to 2200W by lowering the voltage, though they’ll run more slowly.
With 1024Wh of capacity, it can keep a full-size refrigerator running for many hours or keep phones, laptops, lights and a router going through a typical outage. As a rough guide, divide 1024Wh by a device’s wattage and allow for some conversion loss: a 100W load would run for around eight to nine hours. The LiFePO4 battery is rated for 4,000 cycles to 80% capacity, and the unit can be expanded with EcoFlow extra batteries if you need more.
Charging
Fast charging is the DELTA 3’s headline feature. With up to 1500W of AC input, EcoFlow quotes a full charge in about 56 minutes. It also accepts up to 500W of solar input (11–60V), which EcoFlow says can fill it in about two hours in good sun. You can also charge it from your car’s 12V socket, and EcoFlow sells an 800W alternator charger for faster charging on the road.

Who Should Buy the DELTA 3?
Home backup: If you want to keep a fridge, lights and devices running through a typical outage, and value being able to recharge quickly when power returns, the DELTA 3 is a good fit.
RV and camping: It has enough output for cooking appliances and enough capacity for a weekend of moderate use, especially with a solar panel.
Longer outages: For multi-day outages or whole-home needs, consider adding an extra battery or choosing a larger power station or a generator.
The Verdict
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 combines a useful 1kWh capacity with an 1800W inverter and some of the fastest charging in its class. It’s a strong all-rounder for home backup and trips, as long as its capacity matches what you need to power.
